What's your bag?

I don't presume anybody's like me, because, after all, we're all unique, but let's say for the sake of argument, you're like me, and "collect" bags. I'm not talking about high end bags or purses, (sorry) I'm talking about tote bags. Aka yarn bags, aka knitting bags, crochet bags and the smaller variety: project bags. I've found myself to be an accidental collector of bags, just like I have become an accidental collector of coffee mugs, which I have WAY too many of. (I'm also an inspiring collector of shoes, but that's a whole other story. Maybe a different post, we'll see.) But getting back to bags and mugs, I find myself buying one or the other because when I find "THE ONE" that COMPLETELY expresses my personality, of course I HAVE to have it! I try to justify my bag purchases in my mind by convincing myself at a certain level that even though I have too many bags, bags are FUNCTIONAL, so thus, they serve a purpose: to keep my knitting and crochets WIPs or UFOs mobile, so I can be "on the go" at a moments notice and have my current (or not-so-current) project ready to go where ever and when ever I want to go somewhere! So there! What could be more logical???

Same thing with mugs. If I'm at a random gift shop, or on vacation and I see a mug with a snarky comment or saying on it that totally speaks to me, I also have to have it! And what's more functional than a mug (besides a bag) to hold your favorite warm beverage as you relax with your knitting or crocheting bag at your side working on your current project?

So what's your bag? Or must have item? Or thing that you love to collect?

These are SOME of my favorite bags.

Hey BFF! Cool blog. I didn't know you had a collection of bags but after reading your blog I totally picture you on several occasions with a bag going way back. I knew about the mugs and match books. I've often wondered if you have a favorite mug or like to rotate to enjoy them all. Hope this blog will be lots of fun. Yes indeed, you are a hip chick.

Hi BFF! Thanks for the comment! Yes, maybe it's an impulse purchases thing, but whenever I see something that "calls my name" and it's a bag, mug or Mona Lisa merch.or something else that catches my eye and fits my personality and is reasonably priced (more or less) I have no will power. My favorite mug is a black mug with the M & M characters dressed as STAR WARS characters that I got at the M & M store in Vegas YEARS ago! (I at least like to think that I'm hip. Hahaha.)

I have a ton of project bags and mugs, and I also collect cool little boxes and glassware. I have so much stuff (as you may have noted), but I can rationalize continuing to collect drinking glasses because we are always breaking them.

I can empathize Churpa! I have too much stuff and not enough room in my small apartment and not willing to part with any of my treasures. I also collect match books, anything and EVERYTHING with the Mona Lisa on it, raccoon figurines and knick knacks and various other miscellaneous items. I am always on the hunt for creative storage solutions because that is something I desperately need to support my collection habit! ;-)

I'm a hip chick with a couple of wooden sticks and a hook too. This blog is quite literally my ramblings related to knitting, crocheting and yarn and patterns designed by me!
